Apps

While our global client list stretches back almost a decade, here we feature just a few iPhone apps in particular from the past year. Each of these was built on our SpotlightKit framework. Deployed to millions of users, this high-performance custom library speeds development and maximizes performance.

American Museum of Natural History

One of the world's largest museums, its 1.6 million square feet house exhibits which attract millions of visitors each year... and few can find their way around. Seeking a solution, the Museum turned to Spotlight Mobile. The app is the first of its kind and gives turn by turn directions from any location to any location in the museum with engaging treasure hunts, tours, exhibit information, bookmarking, social navigation features and much more.

Balboa Park

Balboa Park—the nation's largest urban cultural park—wanted an application which provided information about the parks 15 major museums, renowned performing arts venues, beautiful gardens and the legendary San Diego Zoo.

Additionally, because the Park has an ever-changing calendar of museum exhibitions, plays, musicals, concerts, and classes, they needed that app to be live and connected to their existing CMS.

Barnes & Noble Bookstore

Seen in several Apple commercials, in B&N stores across the country and downloaded by millions of users, our B&N Bookstore iPhone application puts the world’s largest bookstore in your pocket. Search for products and stores, read reviews, and buy and reserve books all from within this easy to use app.

Portland Art Museum

This multimedia-rich mobile museum tour is built on our powerful ToursApp system. Users can find pieces using the built-in maps, directory, or keypad and enjoy video, audio, image slideshows, HTML content, and much more. All content was created by the Museum and they can continue to update the app instantly using our web-based editing system.

Style.com

Style.com, the online home of Vogue and GQ magazine, needed an app coordinated to launch with Fall Fashion Week in NY. They wanted models coming down the runway to be photographed and available to iPhone users around the world in almost real time. Working together with Style.com, we built this award-winning app which has enjoyed millions of downloads, hundreds of millions of ad views, and now lets users see every fashion show dating back to 2001.

Teen Vogue Haute Spot

The Teen Vogue application was designed to build community. Tightly integrated with Facebook, this app lets users create their own lookbooks from photos they snap, find online, or pull from their photo albums. Users can then share their albums with the world or just their Facebook friends. Ad supported, our slideshow control intersperses a fullscreen, highly targeted ad every few slides and then offers users a way to find the products near their current location.

Vh1 Photos

This app makes great use of our advanced slideshow control. This control supports content caching, dynamic downloading of high-res images, rotation, pinch zoom, captions and more. In this straightforward app, users can stay up-to-date with their favorite VH1 shows, checking out the latest shots of all their favorite celebrities. Our slideshow control is part of SpotlightKit and can also be found in our app for Teen Vogue.

Tylenol Sleep Tracker

Tylenol wanted their app to be a part of their customers' daily life, engage them each day, and offer them ongoing value. This app lets them track their sleep patterns, create custom emoticons, take note of issues affecting their sleep, and view their progress on a dynamic graph. It even offers tips on better sleep.
